The Home Thermostat
The Lightwave Home Thermostat (LW921) can monitor and record the ambient air temperature in an area. This information can be displayed in real-time as well as being logged and reported as historic data. Having accurate realtime temperature information can enable administrators to ensure that heating temperatures are being kept within the required range; the World Health Organisation suggests that a temperature of 21 degrees is optimal for the main living area of any home and 18 elsewhere. This is important for health and energy saving reasons, as every degree above 21 adds 7% costs to energy bills.

Lightwave provides the ability to record and view historic data for past weeks and years for thermostatic and radiator temperature controls. This is presented in spreadsheet or graphical format and is available to export for further analysis.
LightwaveRF devices can generate automated data reports or highlight if and when temperature passes above or below a preset threshold. Even if the device hasn’t changed status, it will report data once a day in order to reassure that it is still present and working.
Detailed temperature monitoring is vital for analysing where heating usage is most intensive and thus ascertaining where savings can be made. It also ensures that safe, comfortable and efficient temperatures are maintained. Historic data can also provide incentives to reduce energy usage by the highlighting of wasteful habits across public buildings or shared accommodation.
